Aurangabad, Feb 11:

The car-dealers today have witnessed a sudden rush of inquiries from car-owners and auto-owners desirous to purchase the CNG-fuel vehicles after the newspaper published the news highlighting starting of 8-10 CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) pumps in the city.

The CNG fuel helps reducing pollution. However, the CNG-based cars and other vehicles will be available after starting CNG pumps in the city.

According to the dealers," CNG fuel is less expensive compare to the cost of diesel and petrol, apart from good mileage. The operations of CNG pumps had started in Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik and Latur, but in Aurangabad, the pumps are starting late. It will be a boon for autorickshaws. Besides, the vehicle-owners will have to install a kit from authorised persons. Moreover, the manufacturing companies had already provided an option of using this fuel in vehicles.

Adds a petrol-pump operator, " As per the Central Government's policy, petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG and battery charging facilities for e-vehicles has to be provided under one roof at the petrol pump. Accordingly, the city's petrol pumps had started updating themselves, while new CNG pumps are also started on the outskirts of the city."

There will be two types of CNG kits available in the market. The cost of a general quality kit will be between Rs 25,000 and Rs 45,000, while the special quality kit will cost between Rs 50,000 and Rs 70,000.

" The car-owners and rickshaw-owners rushed for inquiry about the CNG vehicles after the news published in the newspaper. The CNG-based vehicles will be available in the city after starting the CNG pumps," pointed out the former president of Chamber of Authorised Automobile Dealers Association, Rahul Pagariya.
