Vehicle thefts on rise in city

Aurangabad, Oct 18:

Vehicle thefts are on the rise in the city. The thieves are stealing two-wheelers from various parts of the city. The police have imposed Nakabandi from last week, but the thefts incidents do not seem to seize.

Four motorcycles were stolen from the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Mukundwadi and Waluj MIDC areas recently.

On September 21, Afsar Shaikh Nawab Shaikh (31, Jatwada Road) parked his motorcycle (MH 20 DZ 1873) in front of the casualty department at GMCH. The thieves took advantage of the opportunity and stole the motorcycle by breaking the handle lock.

A motorcycle (MH 20 CX 1737 was stolen from Mohatadevi Temple area in Bajajnagar on October 4, evening. The bike owner Suresh Shridhar Ubhedak (42, Cidco, Waluj Mahanagar) lodged a complaint at Waluj MIDC police station.

In another incident, Maruti Shivaji Dhole (21, Gandhinagar, MIDC Waluj), on October 12, parked his motorcycle (MH 20 FN 9214) in the parking of a company at Waluj Industrial area, from where it was missing.

The fourth incident was reported at Ramnagar area. Shivam Vilas Ghule (23, Ramnagar, Cidco) parked his motorcycle (MH 20 DS 9126) in front of his home on October 17, afternoon. The thieves stole it at night. The cases of thefts have been registered at the concerned police stations.
