ZP members demand to sack BDO Londhe

Aurangabad, Jan 21:

The general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) turned stormy due to the suicide of Gramsevak Sanjay Shinde. The ZP members demanded that the concerned block development officer (BDO) should be dismissed and a case of culpable homicide should be filed against him. The members also demanded action against Sakharam Divte, tehsil president of the Gramsevak union and gramsevak Tulshiram Potdar for helping Londhe.

The general body meeting was held on Thursday at Marathwada Mahsul Prabodhini. ZP members Ramesh Gaikwad, Madhukarrao Walture, Ramesh Pawar and all the members took an aggressive stand against BDO Vijay Londhe. It was alleged that the Londhe of Paithan Panchayat Samiti, demanded money from the monthly salary of the Gram Sevaks and the cheques drawn from the finance commission. ZP members alleged that he harasses the gramsevaks who do not meet the demands. The group development officer should be dismissed immediately. Members had also adjourned the meeting for some time, demanding that Londhe be charged with culpable homicide. Member Ramesh Gaikwad said that while working in Samudrapur Panchayat Samiti in Wardha district, he had harassed many Gramsevaks. There too, Gramsevak Buddhadev Mhaske committed suicide due to the same harassment. The investigation is currently underway. A case of culpable homicide should be filed against the BDO who caused the death of Gramsevak Shinde.

Action will be taken in 8 days

Tributes were paid to Gramsevak Sanjay Shinde in the meeting hall. A complaint has been lodged with the divisional commissioner in this regard. ZP president Mina Shelke clarified that the matter is being investigated by the committee and action will be taken in eight days. vice president L B Gaikwad, Kishore Galande, Avinash Galande, Anuradha Chavan were present.
