Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar got his maiden T20 wicket on his debut for the senior Mumbai side in an Elite E League group match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana on Friday. The budding left-arm seamer got the wicket of Haryana opener CK Bishnoi in the first delivery of his second over when the left-hander nicked one to keeper Aditya Tare. The video soon went viral, with Twitter going abuzz with his bowling action. Arjun, who did not get to play in the first two matches, finally found a place in the playing XI and will represent the Mumbai side which is led by Suryakumar Yadav.

The team comprises several known names in Aditya Tare, Siddhesh Lad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube. The 21-year-old all-rounder went for 34 runs in three overs that he bowled. Despite losing two early wickets, Haryana made a strong comeback and chased down 144 in 17.4 overs. With three wins from as many matches, they are sitting at the top spot in the points table. Mumbai, who are considered to be domestic giants, are out of the competition with three defeats. Tendulkar junior was added to the Mumbai squad, along with another pacer Krutik Hanagavadi, by the Salil Ankola-led selection committee, after the BCCI permitted a total of 22 players to be selected. In past, Arjun has also bowled to the Indian men’s senior cricket team in the nets. In 2017, he also trained with England men’s cricket team and gave them an injury scare as wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow was hit on the toe off a yorker bowled by Arjun and soon limped out of the session.
