COVID-19 cases are rising in India and the state governments are trying hard to bring the numbers down. In order to do that, many states have imposed a lockdown allowing only essential services to function. While this initially began as a week-long lockdown, the states extended the lockdown further and introduced the e-pass system. For the unversed, the movement, of any individual will be allowed only with the possession of an e-pass (in soft or hard copy) However, India opener, Prithvi Shaw who plays for Delhi Capitals, left Mumbai for Goa after the IPL was postponed.

The young opener was on his way to Goa via Kolhapur, but he did not have an e-pass. for his road trip. Police refused to proceed to Prithvi Shaw after being told there was no pass. Prithvi Shaw also requested to be released without a pass, but police refused to proceed with his travel. Later he  applied for e-pass online from Amboli and received a e-pass, post which he was given the permission to continue with his trip. Shaw proved his class in the recently-suspended Indian Premier League (IPL). Shaw was at his lowest when he was dropped from the playing XI after a pair in the first Test against Australia on the Tour Down Under last year. However, he has since regained his lost confidence and has been on a stellar run with the willow. After top-scoring in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 827 runs from eight matches, Shaw continued his fine form in IPL where he notched up 308 runs in 8 games.
