The Bengaluru Police on Tuesday arrested batsman Nishant Singh Shekhawat for his role in fixing matches during the 2018 edition of Karnataka Premier League. It has emerged that the youngster  was in touch with bookies and was asked to under perform by a bookie. It is also alleged that he sent out signals to fixers as a sign of his approval, with a change of bat and through rolling up his sleeves. 

Nishant is the fifth person to be caught for his role in connection with this case. He is also held responsible for luring coach Vinu Prasad to fix matches on behalf of a bookie. Earlier the Tamil Nadu Premier League had also come under the scanner of the Anti - Corruption Unit of the BCCI for the alleged wrongdoings.
