Three time champions Chennai Super Kings suffered a batting collapse ending up with 114 on the board at the end of 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult shared 5 wickets among themselves to destroy the Chennai Super Kings top order in Sharjah. Chennai lost 5 wickets in powerplay, scoring just 24 runs off the first six overs. Sam Curran was the top scorer for the yellow brigade as the English all-rounder notched up his second fifty of his IPL career. Curran's heroics was however soon ended by a peach of a delivery from Trent Boult. 
 

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to field first against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Sharjah. Regular skipper has been ruled out of the game due to hamstring injury. Batsman Saurabh Tiwary has replaced him in the line-up while Kieron Pollard takes the captaincy responsibilities. CSK have made three changes to their line-up. CSK bought in Imran Tahir in place of Shane Watson. Kedar Jadhav and Piyush Chawla were also dropped with  N Jagadeesan and Ruturaj Gaikwad featuring in the playing XI
