In the letter, Verma has clearly mentioned that Damodaran cannot be representing Pondicherry in the BCCI elections in Mumbai on October 23.
"This is regarding objection against P. Damodaran, representative of Cricket Association of Pondicherry (CAP), who is currently ineligible to be a representative of the association as he has been the Secretary of the Cricket Association of Pondicherry from 2004-2018.
"As per the disqualification conditions of the BCCI constitution, he has to undergo cooling off and hence cannot represent the Cricket Association of Pondicherry," Verma wrote.
He also attached the minutes of the South Zone meeting on August 29, 2018, wherein Damodaran was said to be attending the meeting as Secretary of CAP.
Verma further added that Damodaran being the representative nominee from the Cricket Association of Pondicherry meant that he must have submitted a duly signed affidavit stating that he is fully eligible to represent his association which is false.
"Damodaran attended the South Zone representative meeting held on August 29, 2018, as a representative of his association in the capacity of being the Secretary at that time.
"Kindly also note that being the representative nominee of the Cricket Association of Pondicherry, Damodaran must have submitted a duly signed affidavit stating that he is fully eligible to represent his association and is not disqualified under any provision of the BCCI constitution.
"The declaration given by Damodaran stands completely false and fabricated and hence his nomination as a nominee should be rejected immediately," Verma wrote.
