Australian opener David Warner has been named the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad for the upcoming IPL 2020. The news was confirmed by the franchise on their official Twitter handle. In a video posted on Twitter, Warner expressed his gratitude for giving him the role as he thanked Kane Willamson and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for leading the side last year. Last year, Willamson led the side for a few matches before Bhuvneshwar Kumar replaced him as the captain after the kiwi batsman suffered an injury.
The 13th season of IPL 2020 is all set to begin from March 29 with defending champions Mumbai Indians facing Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. Speaking about Warner, the southpaw has been in prolific form since his return from the ban due to the sandpaper scandal which rocked the cricketing world a few years ago.
