MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings and Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals are looking to reach UAE early for the second leg of IPL 2021. “We want to be there by August 15, latest by 20th and we have informed the BCCI that we want to be there by then. We are hoping to get the required permissions, without which the logistical plans will be difficult to execute,” said CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan to Cricbuzz. The third team that wants to reach early are Royal Challengers Bangalore who is led by Virat Kohli.
 

Delhi are on top of the table, followed by CSK and RCB with 10 points each from seven games when the IPL was suspended in May because of a COVID-19 spike within the teams. The fourth team on the points table are Mumbai Indians (8 points from 7 games) and their plans are not yet known just as about other four sides - Rajasthan Royals (6 from 7), Punjab Kings (6 from 8), Kolkata Knight Riders (4 from 7) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (2 from 7).BCCI secretary Jai Shah on Wednesday said that the Indian cricket board is taking the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) remarkable journey once again to the United Arab Emirates. The second phase of IPL 2021 is set to get underway on September 19 and the final is to be played on October 15.The 14th edition of IPL was suspended midway, earlier in the month of May, after multiple cases of Covid-19 surfaced in its bio-bubble. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India decided to conduct the remaining part of the tournament in the UAE in September.
