Former Australian cricket legend Dean Jones has died of a massive heart attack. Jones was part of Star Sports commentary team and was in a bio-secure bubble in a seven-star hotel in Mumbai. He was 59. Dean Jones has been an active cricket analyst and was signed up to do off-tube commentary on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 now underway in UAE. He played 52 Tests and scored 3631 runs including 11 centuries, and featured in 164 one-dayers, racking up 6063 runs, seven centuries and 46 fifties.

"It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest. We express our deep condolences to his family and stand ready to support them in this difficult time. We are in touch with the Australian High Commission to make the necessary arrangements," Star India said in a statement.
