India spinner and Chennai Super Kings player Harbhajan Singh has alleged that he has been cheated by a Chennai based businessman for Rs. 4 crore. According to a report by TOI, Harbhajan has filed a complaint with the Chennai City police against a businessman for duping him of Rs. 4 crore. In his complaint to Chennai police, Bhajji has alleged that he was introduced to a Chennai based businessman via a common friend and he gave a loan of 4 crore to the person in 2015. The name of the person in the complaint given by Harbhajan is G Mahesh, who lives on the Juhu Beach Road in Chennai. Bhajji is said to have approached Mahesh several times but the latter kept delaying the payment.
Last month, Mahesh had issued an INR 25 lakh cheque to Bhajji which bounced due to insufficient funds. Harbhajan approached the city police commissioner in the matter and and lodged a formal complaint against Mahesh and a few others.The issue came to light after the businessman approached the Madras high court seeking anticipatory bail in the case.The petition has been forwarded to Neelankarai assistant commissioner of police Visveshvaraiah for a detailed inquiry. The ACP summoned Mahesh to appear before him for an inquiry. According to Mahesh he had paid all the pending dues to Harbhajan. The ace spinner who was in a contract with CSK for 2 crores recently pulled out of the IPL. The two time World Cup winner cited personal reasons for his omission from the tournament.
