Pandya took just 867 balls to achieve the milestone, overtaking Kedar Jadhav, who took 937 balls to complete 1000 runs. The record for the fastest to 1000 in ODIs is held by West Indies All-rounder Andre Russell, who took just 767 balls to achieve this milestone. 

Pandya took 55 matches to achieve the milestone. Overall, Pandya is the fifth-fastest batsman in the world to score 1,000 ODI runs after West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell (787 balls), New Zealand wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi (807 balls), Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi (834 balls) and New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson (854 balls). Hardik, who is playing his first match as a pure batsman for India, impressed with his unique power-hitting skills as he got to his fifty off just 31 balls with a huge six against Glenn Maxwell. The Mumbai Indians all-rounder also registered his highest score in 50 over format before getting out on 90.
