Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets thereby keeping their playoff hopes alive. RCB, batting first at Sharjah, scored 120/7. Sandeep Sharma (2/20) made early inroads in the RCB lineup. Rashid Khan (1/24) struck after the Powerplay, as RCB failed to gather momentum in their innings.

Josh Philippe (32) and AB De Villiers (24), the highest scorers in the innings, fell in quick succession in the middle overs, after which RCB trudged along to 120/7 in 20 overs. Wriddhiman Saha (39) again anchored the chase for SRH, before some wickets in the middle over by Yuzvendra Chahal (2/19) threatened to make things interesting. SRH overhauled the target with 5 wickets in hand in the 15th over as Jason Holder (26*) came out blazing.
