Marnus Labuschange is one of the key batsman in current Austrailan batting lineup and the batsman who has a liking for big scores will be thanking his stars today. During the second day of the first Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia in Adelaide, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah  dropped a simple catch to give Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne a huge reprieve. It all happened on the last delivery of the 18th over when Labuschagne’s effort of pulling a delivery from Mohammed Shami saw him top-edging the delivery towards fine-leg. Bumrah, who had to just move a few steps to his right and complete the catch, became extra-cautious of the boundary behind him. In an attempt to throw the ball back into the playing area, Bumrah ended up spilling the catch and giving away a boundary.

Australia were 92/5 at tea on the second day of the first Test against India at Adelaide Oval. Marnus Labuschagne (46) and Tim Paine (9) were at the crease for the home team at the end of the second session. Ashwin jolted Australia by picking up three crucial wickets - Steve Smith (1), Travis Head (7) and Cameron Green (11). Earlier in the day, Jasprit Bumrah had trapped Joe Burns (8) and Mathew Wade (8) leg before. India were all out for 244 in the first innings of the pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide. After resuming innings at 233 for 6, they lost four wickets for 11 runs. In fact, India lost seven wickets for 56 runs starting with Virat Kohli’s run-out engineered by a poor judgement call from vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.India would be delighted with how the second session on Day 2 has gone. Australia managed just 59 runs in 29 overs while also losing three wickets. Ashwin has changed the complexion of the game. India are very much on top and would want to finish off things for this innings in the third session with the lights coming on.
