A day after, India's historic win at Gabba, all eyes are now on the Indian Premier League, for a day ahead of the England series. Ahead of the IPL mini-auction on February 11, the last date of player retention for the eight franchises is Wednesday (January 20). With just few hours left, or the deadline for the release of the players, there is a strong talk as to who would be in the retention and release list. Chennai Super Kings, who finished seventh, has already released Harbhajan Singh from their contract list. As per a Cricbuzz report, the likes of Piyush Chawla, Murali Vijay, and Kedar Jadhav are also likely to be released from the squad.  Rajasthan Royals, the bottom-placed team, is reportedly planning to leave out skipper Steve Smith, who was retained for INR 12.5 crore.

The Australian batting mainstay did not exactly provide good value for that money. There is also speculation over the fate of coach Andrew McDonald but the RR management said the assistant coach of the Australian team is very much on board.Champions Mumbai Indians are likely to release, Chris Lynn who did not play a single game last season.  The Kolkata franchise denied speculation that it would let go of former captain Dinesh Karthik while the Hyderabad management said it has no intention of releasing any big player. Delhi may release Shimron Hetmyer (INR 7.75 crore) as per a Cricbuzz report. The idea of releasing players is to buy those very players for a less price, but it the auction process is quote unperdictable. The heroes of India's triumph like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar and T. Natarajan are going to prized assets for their franchises and are unlikely to be put back into the auction pool.  Since the retention of players is a important event, here's all you need to know about  the streaming of the event.
