Manish Pandey scored his fifty off 25 balls as Sunrisers Hyderabad try to get a good finish against Kolkata Knight Riders. Varun Chakravarthy got rid off the well-set David Warner after Pat Cummins dismissed Jonny Bairstow early. KKR used seven bowlers to restrict their opponents to a below-par score. The costliest overseas IPL player - Cummins - proved his worth with the new ball after a poor outing in his previous outing. Bowled in the right channels and nipped out the in-form Bairstow cheaply in the powerplay.

After the birthday boy's dismissal, Warner and Manish Pandey coupled aggression with sensible cricket and the former looked in fine touch. But, the former's knock came to a premature end when Varun Chakravarthy dismissed him in the tenth over to claim his maiden IPL wicket. Earlier,  SRH won the toss and opted to bat first against KKR in the Indian Premier League match no.8 in Abu Dhabi. SRH made three changes to their side, Mohammad Nabi, Wriddhiman Saha and Khaleel Ahmed come in for Mitchell Marsh, Vijay Shankar and Sandeep Sharma. KKR, on the other hand have brought in Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Varun Chakravarthy in place of Sandeep Warrier and Nikhil Naik.
