Punjab Kings skipper, KL Rahul has added another feather to his illustrious T20 cap. Rahul has eclipsed Virat Kohli by becoming the fastest Indian to 5,000 T20 runs. Kohli had reached the mark in 167 innings, Rahul reached in his 143rd innings. Rahul needed just one run in the match, and he got off the mark on the very first ball bowled in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Doing so, he reached the 5000-run mark in T20 cricket, becoming the 2nd fastest in the world to do so, only after Chris Gayle, who had taken 132 innings to achieve the feat. Talking about the match, Rahul scored 4 off 6 balls as the PBKS skipper was dismissed in the 4th over bowled by senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. While Mayank Agarwal chipped in with a crucial 22 off 25 balls, Shahrukh Khan scored 17-ball 22 as Punjab managed to set up a below-par total of 120 runs against SRH at the Chepauk. The Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 121 runs to register their first win of the new season.
