A clinical display by bat and bowl by the Rajasthan Royals saw them win their second game of the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders. A performance like this was the need of the hour as Royals were thrashed in the previous game against RCB. RR adapted to the pitch much better which saw them reach the targets with 6 wickets in hand. However, Kolkata's poor run at Wankhede continued as they were never in a dominant position in the contest, as they lost their fourth successive match of the tournament and slid to the bottom of the points table.

With this win - only the second of the tournament - Royals have moved to the sixth spot on the points table. Earlier, Chris Morris ended with four wickets to his credit as Kolkata Knight Riders have been limited to 133 for 9. It was a bizarre, cautious display of batting by KKR. They never got going, starting from the powerplay - where they had picked up only 25 runs. Rajasthan Royals were largely good on the field as well as with the ball.
