Mumbai Indians posted 195/5 in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders with Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya scoring 13 runs in the final over. Rohit Sharma was the star of the show for Mumbai, scoring 80 runs in 54 balls. Suryakumar Yadav also scored a well-made 47. Shivam Mavi was the star performer for Kolkata Knight Riders with the ball, picking up two wickets of Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock.

Pat Cummins proved to be an expensive customer, giving away 49 runs in 3 overs. The target seems a tall task as KKR's batting line-up will have to tackle the likes of  Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and James Pattinson. Earlier, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and elected to field at Abu Dhabi. Brendon McCullum, KKR's coach, said during his interview with the broadcasters, around the 10-over mark, that 200 would be a par score and his side have done well to not allow Mumbai to get there.
