Former Pakistan opener Nasir Jamshed pleaded guilty to spot-fixing bribery conspiracy in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2016-17 season at Manchester Crown Court in the United Kingdom. After denying his involvement in the bribery conspiracy for more than 2 years, Jamshed admitted having been part of the spot-fixing scandal. Jamshed is said to have been a target of bribery during the tournament in Bangladesh, before he sided with the corrupt individuals and attempted to sway other players to spot fix in a PSL game between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in Dubai on February 9.

He changed his plea during a court hearing in Manchester, according to the AFP. Jamshed, who was arrested along with Anwar and Ijaz, was seen as the 'linchpin' in the spot-fixing scandal by the PCB, and slapped with a ten-year ban. February 9 2020 has been set as the date for the sentencing of the trio. An attacking batsman Nasir Jamshed, who last played for Pakistan in 2015, played 48 ODIs, 18 T20Is and 2 Tests for Pakistan.
