Kings XI Punjab scored 126/7 in 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial legaue game in the ongoing IPL 2020. The Punjab innings began with much promise, as KL Rahul got the team to a sedate start. However, the innings failed to get going as Rahul, and Chris Gayle fell in quick succession. Rashid Khan along with Sandeep Singh ensured the batting team gains no momentum in their bid to set a massive target.

Nicholas Pooran (32*) anchored the second half of the KXIP innings, but only two boundaries were hit in the second half of the innings. Both SRH and KXIP have eight points but due to the better net run rate the former are at fifth spot in the IPL standings. Punjab are on the winning streak as they have won their last three games. In their last meeting this season, Hyderabad defeated Punjab by 59 runs.
