Today's the last day for teams to retain players, ahead of the IPL 2021 auction in February and the first team to release the complete list of players for 2021 is Royal Challengers Bangalore. The notable names who have been ousted from the team is Australia captain Aaron Finch and South African all-rounder, Chris Morris. The list of retained players include, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Devdutt Padikkal, W. Sundar, Md. Siraj, Saini, Adam Zampa, Shahbaz Ahmed, Josh Philippe, Kane Richardson, and Pawan Deshpande.
Among the names ousted from the team are, Chris Morris, Aaron Finch, Moeen Ali, Isuru Udana, Dale Steyn, Shivam Dube, Umesh Yadav, Pawan Negi, Gurkeerat Mann, and Parthiv Patel. Last year, RCB, finished fourth in the standings and edged past Kolkata Knight Riders in the playoffs race despite having the same number points. Kohli’s men had a better net run-rate but they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator – their third defeat to SRH in the season. The emergence of Devdutt Padikkal as a reliable opener though was a big plus for the franchise. n his debut season, Padikkal finished as RCB’s top-scorer with the bat with 473 runs ahead of Kohli and AB de Villiers. He averaged 31.53 and hit five half-centuries during the season. With the ball, legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal was the star performer for them taking 21 wickets in 15 innings including best figures of 3/18.
