Former Indian cricketer and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago.

Tendulkar had said that he was undergoing home quarantine after seeing the mild symptoms of corona. But, on Friday, he tweeted that he has been hospitalized on medical advice.

Tendulkar tweeted, "Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone. Wishing all Indians & my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup win.. ''

Maharashtra has been witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases, and reported more than 43,183  new infections in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry update on Friday morning.
