Former teammates Shane Warne and Andrew Symonds were caught abusing Australia star Marnus Labuschagne during commentary. The pair were working as part of the Fox Sports commentary team for Friday’s Strikers-Renegades BBL clash at the Adelaide Oval. They were off-air on Fox but the Kayo Sports livestream was active and captured the cringeworthy comments. Warne kicked off what he thought was an off-air conversation with an innocuous comment about the third Test between Australia and India at the SCG. “I reckon you’d give Marnus another bowl too,” Warne said.

“Do something (inaudible) to his ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) f***ing pills,” Symonds said in reference to Labuschagne’s batting antics. “Yeah, f***, Jesus it’s annoying. No! Just f***ing bat properly, sook,” Warne said. “You’d have to give him the hog pile. Mate, if you keep that s*** up we’re going to squash your guts out your arse,” Symonds added. The embarrassing conversation was promply posted on social media by a fan. Kayo Sports offered an apology on Twitter, however neither Warne or Symonds had addressed the issue on Friday night. In their playing careers, Warne and Symonds were in the headlines for their off-field antics. Symonds, an enigmatic talent before finally realising his potential, was once banned from representing Australia in a one-day international after turning up drunk to play Bangladesh in 2005.
