India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Friday donated oxygen concentrators to Gurugram police to help them fight the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the city. The cops took to social media to thank Dhawan for his generous contribution. "Taking forward our committed efforts. Grateful to @SDhawan25 for providing Oxygen Concentrators," Gurugram Police tweeted.  "Grateful to serve my people in this pandemic through this small token of help! Always ready to help my people and society to my best. India shall rise and shine against this pandemic!" Dhawan replied.

Last month, Dhawan had donated Rs 20 lakh towards 'Mission Oyxgen' to help fund the requirement of oxygen in Covid-hit India. The Delhi-born 35-year-old had also given away his cash prizes that he won during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 towards coronavirus relief work. "I will be making a donation of Rs 20 lakhs, plus money from all post-match individual performances towards that I receive from the IPL 2021 towards Mission Oxygen to help fund the requirement of oxygen," read a part of his statement. Dhawan in all likelihood is set to lead India in the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
