Faf du Plessis has been roped in as Aaron Finch's replacement at the Northern Superchargers for the inaugural season of the Hundred. He will lead the side in Finch's absence. "It is a real honour to lead Northern Superchargers in their first season. Playing alongside the likes of Ben Stokes, Adil Rashid and Chris Lynn alongside a number of talented young players will be really exciting. I can't wait to get going in a few weeks' time," Faf du Plessis said.

New Zealand duo of Adam Milne and Finn Allen have been snapped up by Birmingham Phoenix, with the latter replacing Kane Williamson, who will miss the first season of the event due to an injury. Opening batsman Colin Munro joins up with Manchester Originals. Superchargers also have a replacement among the domestic players as Olly Stone has been ruled out due to a back injury. In his place, in comes Yorkshire's Jordan Thompson. Ollie Robinson and Sam Hain, meanwhile, replace Harry Gurney and Wayne Madsen at Manchester Originals. A number of South Africa and New Zealand players have been roped in, in the lead up to the first-ever season of the tournament. Shaheen Shah Afridi has also withdrawn from his Phoenix contract due to his international commitments with Pakistan, who tour the Caribbean during the Hundred's window from July 21-August 21. Adam Zampa, their third men's overseas player, is also expected to pull out as he is part of the Australia squad for their limited-overs tours to the Caribbean and Bangladesh. The inaugural edition of The Hundred will be played from July 22 to August 21.
