Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra is currently in the news due to his arrest for a pornography case. On July 19, the businessman was arrested by the Mumbai Police since he has been named the ‘key conspirator’ in the case. Raj has been sent to judicial custody till July 23 along with his partner Ryan Tharp, who was also arrested in the same case. Now according to a News 18 report, 70 porn videos were filmed as per Raj Kundra's orders. The videos were produced by different small-time production houses. All these production houses are under scanner. Besides these, 90 videos made specifically for Kundra-owned ‘Hotshots’ app are being examined by the investigating team. Some are over 20 to 30 minutes long in duration as per reports.

Further investigation into the racket revealed that Kundra had a legal team for copyrights to protect the porn films against piracy on Hotshots app, Crime Branch officers said on Wednesday. According to the Crime Branch, Kundra had also created three WhatsApp groups where he assigned tasks to the people. The names of his WhatsApp groups were HS-account, HS-operation and HS-take down, said officers. The Mumbai Crime Branch on Wednesday raided Kundra’s Andheri office in connection with the pornography racket, and believed to have recovered a server which is suspected to have been used to transfer pornographic videos to the UK-based company, owned by his brother-in-law. Amid the controversy, the lawyer of Shilpa Shetty’s husband has defended the content produced by the businessman, saying that it is what web shows are working on these days - vulgar content. He added that the clips cannot be classified as porn. No scene shows that two persons indulged in an act of intercourse, hence, it cannot be called porn, the lawyer was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
