Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput commits suicide in Mumbai

Noted Bollywood actor and television star Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly committed suicide on Sunday. As per preliminary investigation, he was found hanging at his Bandra residence. His demise came as a shock to many as this is the fourth death of a famous personality from the Hindi film industry after Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor  and Wajid Khan of  Sajid-Wajid fame. Sushant rose to fame with his role in M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story.  According to reports, the door to his room was broken and he was found hanging. Initial reports from the police say that he was suffering from depression for the past six months.


In an official statement, Sushant Singh Rajput's team had shared, "It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work like they have done so far. We request media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief."His last release was 'Chhichhore', which hit the screens in 2019. He romanced Shraddha Kapoor in the film, which emerged as a massive blockbuster at the box office. The actor was rumoured to be in a relationship with Rhea Chakravorty.  Several Bollywood celebrities from Karan Johar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief on social media. On the professional front, Sushant was supposed to be Mukesh Chhabra directed 'Dil Bechara' with Sanjana Sanghi. The film was an official remake of Hollywood hit 'The Fault in Our Stars'.
