A day after the CBI's 15 member team landed in Mumbai to probe the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the SIT has immediately swung into action. According to the news agency PTI, a vehicle, in which the cook was seen sitting next to a CBI official, was spotted entering the guest-house complex. The probe team will record statements of people connected with the case, sources said. The cook's statement will be crucial for he will CBI paint a picture of all the events that unfolded leading up to the actor's death. Neeraj will be interrogated by the CBI SIT team, led by SP Nupur Prasad.

Additionally, another team of the CBI, led by a superintendent-rank officer, reached the Bandra Police Station and collected the case diary of the Accidental Death Report (ADR) which was filed by the Mumbai Police after the actor was found hanging in his Bandra apartment on June 14. The team collected case diary of the ADR and other important documents related to the investigation of the case, which included autopsy and forensic reports. According to a report in PTI, the CBI squad will also visit Rajput's flat in 'Mont Blanc' building where he was found hanging. The team will recreate the crime scene at the spot during the investigation. The development comes after the apex court gave its nod to a CBI inquiry earlier this week and dismissed the plea filed by actress Rhea Chakraborty seeking transfer of the probe from Bihar to Mumbai.
