Deepika Padukone seek Bappa's blessings for Chhapaak at Siddhivinayak Temple

Deepika Padukone's much-awaited film 'Chhapaak' based on the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal has finally hit the theatres. The actress visited the Siddhivinayak Temple in the morning to seek blessings for the film. Deepika was papped outside the temple clad in a beige colour ethnic wear which she teamed up with a pair of traditional earrings and leather juttis. Many B-town celebs have already praised the film on their respective social media handles with many of them hailing Deepika's performance as one of her best till date. 

'Chhapaak' is based on the real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi, who at the age of 15, was attacked allegedly by a spurned lover in 2005. Her attacker, a 32-year old man, was an acquaintance of her family. The film which also sees Vikrant Massey playing a significant role was made tax-free by the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh on Thursday. The film is set to clash with h Om Raut’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ starring Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles.
