Irrfan Khan honoured with posthumous Lifetime Achievement award at Filmfare Awards

The 66th Filmfare Awards for 2021 were given out on Saturday night. Thappad, with seven trophies, and Gulabo Sitabo, with six, were the big winners of the evening. late actor Irrfan Khan bagging the trophy for the Best Actor (Male), for his performance in 'Angrezi Medium'. The film helmed by Homi Adajania also starred Radhika Madan, Deepak Dobriayal and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Irrfan's son Babil got emotional while receiving the trophy at the award night. 

The late actor was also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at the event.Saif Ali Khan bagged the Best Actor in a supporting role for his performance in Om Raut's 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'. Ajay Devgn played the titular role while Sharad Kelkar essayed the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film. Om also received the Best Director award for the film.The star-studded show was hosted by Riteish Deshmukh, Rajkummar Rao and Maniesh Paul. The awards, which honour artistic and technical excellence in cinema, recognised the best of Hindi cinema for the year 2020.
