Kannada Bigg Boss fame actress Jayashree Ramaiah died by suicide on Monday. As per her close associates she was going through depression and was getting treatment in Sandhya Kirana Ashram of Bengaluru, where she was found hanging. In July, last year, the actress did admit her battle with depression. In a Facebook live, the actress said, “I am not doing this for any kind of publicity so please don’t post any derogatory comments. Financially, I am doing well in life. I have suffered a lot from my family since my childhood days. I am suffering from depression. Please give me mercy killing, I would be happy to die. ”The actress had posted on Facebook about feeling suicidal in June last year, however, Kannada star Kiccha Sudeep managed to console her. The actress was better for some time, but post that, she isolated herself from her friends and family, according to one of her close friends Shilpa, who told a local news channel.

On Monday, she stopped responding to messages and phone calls from family and friends, who then contacted the Ashram. When the authorities of the Ashram checked in she was found hanging. A case has been registered with Madanayakanahalli police station of Bengaluru rural under whose jurisdiction it falls. More details of the case are awaited. In September, Ramiah had filed a police complaint against her maternal uncle alleging physical and sexual harassment. The actress has filed a written complaint in Chennammanakere Achukattu police station. On the other hand, her uncle has denied all the charges. He said, "All the charges are baseless. She is staying with us for quite some time. I used to be strict due to her lifestyle. She comes home late at night to which I had objected. She has filed a false complaint because of this reason. We have already given her share of the property and don't have any dispute over it. "The popular dancer and actress became a household name after participating in the popular reality show Bigg Boss Kannada season 3. The model-turned-actress made her Sandalwood debut right after her Bigg Boss stint with a dark comedy movie Uppu Hulli Kara, directed by Imran Sardhariya and produced by M. Ramesh.
