Kamaal R Khan targets Kangana, says her upcoming directorial Emergency will be a flop

Kamaal Rashid Khan in his latest tweet has taken a dig at actress Kangana Ranaut and her upcoming directorial Emergency which is based on the life of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The self-proclaimed film critic,  in a tweet wrote, "Director #MadhurBhandarkar made film #InduSarkar on #IndiraGandhi and emergency, Aur Kutta Bhi Dekhne Nahi Gaya (Not even a dog watched it)! Now Deedi #KanganaRanaut is making film on the same subject. Means she wants to make 12th flop in the row. Her last 11 films are super flop," he tweeted. Kangana Ranaut had announced earlier last week that she will be the one directing Emergency.

She wrote in a post on the Koo app, "Pleased to wear Director's hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me, collaborating with fabulous writer Ritest Shah, even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments I am determined to do it, my excitement is high this is going to be a tremendous journey, my leap to another league #Emergency #Indira."She had previously co-directed her film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. In an earlier statement, Kangana Ranaut had clarified that Emergency is not a biopic, but a political drama. She had said, “It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi. It is a grand period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation to understand the socio-political landscape of current India.” Besides “Emergency”, Ranaut has a string of films in her kitty including “Thalaivi” “Dhaakad”, “Tejas” and the second installment of “Manikarnika” franchise, titled “Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda”.
