Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has reacted to Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan's speech on the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament. Bachchan spoke about alleged ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’.

Kangana said,"Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also"

Amid a raging controversy over drug use in the film industry in connection with a probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Jaya Bachchan on Tuesday slammed all those who have been calling the Mumbai-based entertainment industry a "gutter".

BJP MP Ravi Kishan on first day of monsoon session said in Lok Sabha, “We know the problem of drug trafficking and drug addiction is increasing. In this conspiracy, our neighbouring countries are involved… Drugs come to this country via China and Pakistan. Our film industry too is affected.”

Bachchan had given a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha, which can be raised for critical matters with the approval of the Speaker.

"The people who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I really dissociate myself and I hope that the government tells these people who have made their earning and name and fame in the industry to stop using such language," Bachchan said, without naming anyone.

She said that there are people in the industry, who are the highest tax payers and they are being harassed. "All kind of promises are being made to industry but never kept," she added.

"Jis thaali me khate hai, usi me ched karte hai," she said in Hindi in a dig at the actor Ravi Kishan, literally meaning destroying the goose that lays the golden egg.
