Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Thalaivi is one of the most anticipated films of the year.  The release of the film however, has been postponed  owing to the COVID 19 situation. Soon reports surfaced that the Jayalalitha biopic will be releasing in theatres soon. Now, Kangana himself, has said slammed the fake reports doing rounds online. Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a story wherein she mentioned, “No release date has been finalised for #Thalaivi yet, please refrain from rumours, we will release the film as and when cinemas open all across the country thanks..”

Earlier, the Queen actress actress had said that the film's digital rights are with Amazon (Tamil) and Netflix (Hindi) and none of them can individually stream the movie. The film also stars Arvind Swami as MGR who was the founder of AIADMK, the political party. The film also marks Kangana's return to Tamil cinema after a gap of 12 years, after working in Dhaam Dhoom (2008) with Jayam Ravi.
