The Lucknow Police has sent a notice to Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor to record her statement on April 30. She would be questioned in connection with an FIR registered against her on March 20 in the Sarojini Nagar Police Station by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Kumar Agarwal, under Sections 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant), 269 (negligently acting in a way likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), and 270 (malignant act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code.

The police team, which served the notice on Kanika, was headed by Inspector JP Singh. The singer herself received the notice. "She has been asked to visit the Sarojini Nagar police station and record her statement," said the inspector. Just a few days ago the Baby Doll Singer opened up on the controversies around her testing positive for the coronavirus last month. For the unversed, Kanika had reached Lucknow on March 11 after having reached India from London two days prior. She had since attended several social functions in the city and then tested positive for Coronavirus on March 20. She is also accused of not undergoing the 14-day self quarantine after travelling from abroad. The singer went on to clear her stance by stating that all the people she interacted with after her return has been tested negative.
