Filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt's wife Soni Razdan has came out in support of Rhea Chakraborty on Twitter, after a user commented that the actress has possibly lost any chance at a career in Bollywood. Rhea Chakraborty, who is out on bail after spending in a month in jail has been keeping a low profile since her release from prison in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Replying to the netizen, Soni expressed, “She going to jail has clearly exposed only the people who sent her there and shown that she was an innocent victim of a very twisted design. Why won’t anyone work with her? I think she will do very well. I hope so anyway.”

Earlier, after Mahesh Bhatt and Rhea Chakraborty's WhatsApp chats were leaked on the Internet, Soni had defended her husband. Mahesh Bhatt's name had surfaced  for a few months in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The filmmaker has been questioned by the Mumbai Police too. Rhea Chakraborty was embroiled in controversy after the demise of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. The late actor’s father had filed a case against Rhea in July 2020 in Patna. While Sushant’s family had leveled several allegations against the actress, Rhea had denied the same. The investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise is currently being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation. On the work front, Rhea will soon be seen in ‘Chehre’, co- starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. The Rumi Jaffery directorial is reportedly scheduled to hit the screens in 2021. The film’s director, Rumi Jaffery, said in a recent interview that her time in jail ‘has crushed her morale completely’ but is positive that she will bounce back.
