Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away in Mumbai. The Bobby actor was admitted  at the Reliance Foundation Hospital. The actor's elder brother in a interview to a news portal revealed that Rishi had some breathing issues. "He is in the hospital. He is suffering from cancer and he has some breathing problem, so he has been admitted to the hospital. He is stable now," said Randhir Kapoor.

Amitabh Bachchan had shared a post on Twitter about his co-star.

Bobby: Rishi Kapoor came in the limelight with a Raj Kapoor directorial that went on to become one of highest grossing Indian films at the time of release. Starring debutante Dimple Kapadia, Bobby also was Rishi Kapoor’s first role as lead. he also made small cameos in films like Mera Naam Joker and Shree 420. 

Laila Majnu: This film depicts a love story that has been told many times before. However, Rishi Kapoor’s performance as the heartbroken Majnu made this movie special for the audience. 

Amar, Akbar and Anthony: Rishi Kapoor portrayed the character of Akbar, a muslim who grows up to be a Qawaali singer. The film depicts a story of three brothers who were separated as children and end up growing in a different faith. 

Sargam: The extremely popular song ‘Dafli Waale’ is from Sargam. In fact, the song became so popular across the country, that a picture of Rishi Kapoor playing a dafli even featured in the posters of the film. 

Prem rog : This films is one of Rishi Kapoor’s highly acclaimed performances for sure. It had the perfect blend of romance and tragedy. Dev and Manorama (Padmini Kolhapure) are two childhood friends but are separated later as Dev aims to pursue higher studies in the city of Mumbai.

Agneepath: This film is regarded as one of Rishi Kapoor’s best performances till date. In the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer which also shared the title, he played the character called Rauf Lala, a drug dealer and a pimp who runs a meat selling business to mask all his illegal activities.
