"Obscenity lies in the minds of a viewer imagining more": Pooja Bedi supports Milind Soman for stripping naked in Goa Beach

Actress and columnist Pooja Bedi is who is best remembered for her role in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar has backed the controversial picture of model-actor Milind Soman running nude in Goa beach. She said that there is ‘absolutely nothing obscene’ about the photo and called it ‘aesthetic’. Taking to her Twitter handle, Pooja Bedi compared the image of Milind with those of bare Naga sadhus and tweeted, “Absolutely nothing obscene about @milindrunning aesthetic pic. The obscenity lies in the minds of a viewer imagining more! His crime is being good looking, famous & setting bench marks! If nudity is a crime all naga babas should be arrested. Smearing ash can’t make it acceptable!”

Milind was booked for obscenity after he uploaded the photo. The south Goa Superintendent of Police Pankaj Kumar Singh told Hindustan Times that he was booked under section 294 (obscenity) of the Indian Penal Code, along with other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. For the unversed, Milind Soman celebrated his 55th birthday earlier, for which he shared a picture of his beach run. He also captioned the picture with “Happy birthday to me! #55.” The picture was clicked by his wife Ankita Konwar who said, “I think the run just sends out a very positive message on body positivity and being free and happy with who you are. I adore him for always being so at peace with who he is. I think anyone who accepts themselves for who they are has this incredible light and energy around them, and people start liking their presence. Milind’s always been like that. Always himself.”
