Oscars 2020: Priyanka Chopra Jonas applauds Parasite team for winning top honours at Academy Awards

South Korean Parasite was the big winner at the 92nd Academy Awards as the film ended up winning four awards at the most prestigious Hollywood award show. Congratulating the team, Priyanka Chopra penned a beautiful message for the 'Parasite' team. The actress also took the opportunity to  make a call for representation in the entertainment industry. Applauding the team, PeeCee wrote, “It is so emotional to see an international film like parasite, in Korean with English subtitles, not only receive such a warm embrace from audiences around the world but also this kind of recognition from one of the most prestigious film academy’s in the world,” Priyanka wrote on her Insta story with a picture of Parasite’s director Bong Joon Ho. 

Parasite won the award for the  Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Original Screenplay. After the stupendous success of the film, the director is all set to make an HBO series based on it. Talking about the Oscars, Joaquin Phoenix won the Best Actor Award for Joker and Renee Zellweger was adjudged Best Actress for Judy. For the very first time, Brad Pitt won the Academy Award in the Supporting Actor category. Meanwhile, Laura Dern won the award in the Best Actress in the Supporting role category.
