Rakul Preet Singh moves to High Court against media trial after her name emerges in drugs case

Rakul Preet Singh has approached Delhi High Court against media trial, after her named surfaced in the drugs-related probe carried out by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Rakul’s name emerged in the controversy after it was reported that Rhea Chakraborty had named Sara Ali Khan, Rakul and Simone Khambatta in her statement to the NCB. According to a ANI tweet, Delhi HC has sent out directives to the Prasar Bharati and News Broadcasters Association in connection to this matter, “Delhi High Court directs Centre, Prasar Bharati and News Broadcasters Association to consider Rakul Preet Singh's plea as a representation and expeditiously decide it including any interim directions that ought to be issued.”

The former beauty queen through her lawyer, submitted that media reports being run in contravention with I&B Ministry guidelines. After refuting of landing with any specific names of film personalities during the course of investigation into the drugs angle involving the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has now stated that some leading stars were named by Rhea Chakraborty during her interrogation. On the work front, Rakul is currently working on a cross border love story opposite Arjun Kapoor. Arjun and Rakul’s film also stars other actors like Kanwaljit Singh, Neena Gupta, John Abraham, and Aditi Rao Hydari in special roles.  The film will mark the directorial debut of Kaashvie Nair and is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani, and John Abraham.
