Sushant was teased a lot, reveals his psychiatrist Suzanne Walker

Sushant Singh Rajput's therapist Susan Walker, in her statement to Mumbai Police, has said that the late actor was suffering from bipolar disorder and that his condition had deteriorated in October and November 2019 as per a report by India Today report. The statement given to the police on 16 July, two days after Sushant's death, also points out that the late actor was aware of his disease but couldn't accept it.  Susan stated that on 30 October, 2019, she got a message from Sushant's manager Shruti Modi that Sushant was suffering from severe anxiety for the last ten days and needs immediate medical help. Susan gave an appointment but Sushant didn't turn up that day. On 7 November, Walker said, Rhea Chakraborty contacted her again and said since Sushant was really unwell that day he had cancelled the appointment.

Susan said in her statement that Sushant told her he was teased a lot in his childhood because he was shy. She also said that Sushant wasn't close to his father but he was very attached to his mother. After his mom passed away due to a panic attack, Sushant became close to his sisters. As per the therapist, Sushant's bipolar disorder had increased rapidly. Sushant might have felt he would never recover from the disease, Susan Walker said in her statement.Earlier, in an interview to Barkha Dutt, Susan Walker had said that she was compelled to breach doctor-patient confidentiality and speak about the actor's mental health given the conspiracy theories floating around and the media trial taking place.Dr Suzanne Walker in her statement further said, "I felt that Mr Sushant Singh's condition is extremely serious and he needs immediate treatment, hence I asked him to come on the date 07/11/2019 at 4:45 pm. After that I gave her my clinic address and asked her to inform about the treatment going on to Mr. Sushant Singh. After that, at approximately 4:45 pm, Miss Rhea Chakraborty and Mr Sushant Singh Rajput came to me. On that day, I had met him for the first time. I asked Rhea Chakraborty to stand outside and had a clinical discussion with Mr Sushant Singh Rajput."

Dr Suzanne Walker in her statement further stated that she learnt Sushant Singh Rajput is suffering from this disease for the past 20 years. Sushant Singh Rajput himself told Dr Walker that he suffered from the symptoms at a very young age. Similar symptoms were experienced in the years 2013 and 2014. Every time, the severity of symptoms kept increasing. At the end of her statement, Dr Suzanne Walker said, "After that, on June 14, 2020, at 2:40 pm, Dr Parveen told me that Mr Sushant Singh has committed suicide. As for my opinion, Mr Sushant Singh had bipolar disorder and he had studied a lot about this disease. I had told him again and again that he would get cured of this disease but he thought that it is not true. Hence, he was continuously feeling that he would not recover from this disease. Overall, I feel that thinking that his family members should not suffer in the future due to this disease, instead of living with the said disease, he might have taken the decision to commit suicide, as a final resort."
