Srinagar, April 7 The Indian Army is helping ordinary Kashmiris amid the deadly Covid-19 outbreak. A video released by the army shows soldiers reaching out to the people in the valley and helping them to deal with the enormous crisis.

The 90 second video is titled as "War Without a Battlefield". There are short segments in the video showing soldiers making announcements to make people aware about the coronavirus; distributing food to migrant labourers; sanitising areas by spraying disinfectants; pasting medical advisories; distributing masks and sanitisers to the people; doing medical check ups of people showing signs of coronavirus; and ensuring social distancing during food distribution.

This is not the first time that the army has played a lead role to help the people in distress in the wake of natural calamities. During the 2005 earthquake and 2014 flood, army played a pivotal role in carrying out rescue and relief operations in Kashmir.

But while army is helping the people in the crisis after the outbreak of corona virus it is not missing its focus in the fight against terrorism.

On Monday the Army killed a group of five infiltrators in the Tangdhar sector and lost its soldiers of special forces.

GoC 15 corps Lt General B.S. Raju said assured that while the fight is going on against the coronavirus, army will not let down its guard.

"While you are busy fighting the pandemic of corona virus, we at the LoC will take all actions to guard the LoC and allow no mischiefs by Pakistan," he said.

Clearly army is in the forefront in the fight against terrorism but does not miss its human touch when people are faced with a pandemic like the coronavirus.
