New Delhi, April 7 The much talked-about 'Bhilwara Model' in Rajasthan to contain the coronavirus pandemic cannot be replicated in Delhi due to "high density population," according to Aam Aadmi Party MP Sushil Gupta. "Isolation is the solution," he told on Tuesday.

In Rajasthan, to break the chain of contamination, nearly 6,000 people were identified and put under isolation for 2 days. A 2-km area of a person found COVID-19 positive is sealed and contact-tracing is done.

The Rajya Sabha MP of Delhi's ruling party said that more tests can only save more people, but the Union government has not been able to provide testing kits. Nor are the personal protective equipment kits provided as per the demand of the state governments.

"There are thousands of patients in each state, but they are not detected due to lack of testing kits," said Sushil Gupta.

But the Delhi government is prepared for any eventuality and has announced that the state is ready to treat at least 30,000 patients.

The state government has already asked private hospitals to be on standby and hotels and banquets are also being shortlisted. "Isolation is the only solution," stressed Gupta.

The AAP MP claimed that he is feeding at least 7,500 poor people daily through his NGO.

The Delhi government has chalked out a 'five T plan' testing, tracing, treatment, team work, and tracking and monitoring.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday that along with these steps, the government is well prepared in dealing with up to 30,000 active cases in the city.
