Guess who did Joe Biden follow from his official account after taking charge as US President

After being sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, Joe Biden surprised everyone by clicking the follow button on Twitter. The newly elected President took control of the @POTUS account on Twitter, which is the official handle of the president of the United States. Till now,  President Biden follows just 12 people - his wife Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, a few of his aides, the official account of the White House. The latest entrant is model Chrissy Teigen. For the unversed, Chrissy Teigen dons many roles that of a model, television star, author, and entrepreneur.

A vocal critic of former president Donald Trump, who once was famously called her a "filthy-mouthed wife", Chrissy had been blocked by the @POTUS account for years while it was under Trump's control. On Wednesday, she tweeted an appeal to incoming president Joe Biden. "hello @joebiden I have been blocked by the president for four years can I get a follow plz," the 35-year-old wrote. Soon her wish turned out to be true, as she became the only celebrity to be followed by President Biden's official account.  Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday. His deputy, Kamala Harris, the daughter of immigrants from Jamaica and India, also took oath as the new Vice President, becoming the first woman, Black person, and first Asian-American to serve in the position. In his first remarks, Biden said, “Here we stand days after a riotous mob thought they could silence the will of the people. It will not happen, not today, not tomorrow, not ever.” He pledged to be honest with the country as it continues to confront difficulties, saying leaders had an obligation to “defend the truth and defeat the lies”.
