Father's Day 2021: Karan Johar feels ‘blessed’ to be a father to Yash and Roohi

Filmmaker Karan Johar penned a powerful note on the special ocassion of Father's Day. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai filmmaker posted a series of happy pictures with his twins  Yash and Rooh. Kjo mentioned how he feels ‘blessed’ to be a father. He addressed the need to do “conscious parenting” in today’s time and age. “Children are extremely impressionable so what we say around them truly matters! #happyfathersday to every understanding, supporting but never controlling father…” he concluded. Karan Johar welcomed Yash and Roohi via surrogacy in the year 2017.

The acclaimed director, who was close to his father, recently, launched Yash Johar Foundation. “This has been a true labor of love… created in memory of my incredible father and to carry forward his legacy. I am proud to launch the Yash Johar Foundation, which has been set up with the aim to improve the quality of life for people in the Indian entertainment industry. While we have initiated the implementation of long-term sustainable plans that will enhance the lives of people and their families in the industry, we have also ensured that immediate solutions are being provided to help them deal with the effects of the on-going global pandemic,” Karan shared. The Yash Johar Foundation (YJF) has been set up with the aim to improve the quality of life for people in the Indian entertainment industry and will work towards offering better access to opportunities in education, health & building financial stability. On the work front, Karan is all set to return in the director's chair after five long years with period drama Takht. It stars  Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Takht will be set in the Mughal era and will chronicle the story of two warring brothers, Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. The movie is based on the war between Shah Jahan's two sons.
