80 more policemen test positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra; total tally at 1889

80 more policemen have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra, taking the total number of personnel affected by coronavirus in the state to 1,889 on Tuesday.

According to the police, the total number of cases includes 207 police officers and 1,682 other ranks.

"In the last 24 hours, 80 police personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 & 2 deaths have been reported. Total number of positive cases in Maharashtra Police rise to 1889 with death toll at 20. Total 1,031 are active cases while 838 personnel have recovered," the police said.

Out of the total, 20 have died due to the infection and 838 have recovered so far, it said.
