Aaditya Thackeray writes to PM Modi to postpone exams for all professional courses & entrance exams

In view of rising coronavirus cases in the country, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Environment, Aaditya Thackeray on Monday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealing him to assess the risk and postpone all academic activity to do with physical or online examinations across the country, for all professional  courses, including entrance exams (JEE & NEET). 

In his letter to the Prime Minister, he said that instead of starting the academic year from June/July 2020, we can plan to start academic year from January 2021.

He tweeted,"I have written to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji on the health risk that the proposed exams of various streams, and entrance exams, would have for students and families across India and for his personal intervention."

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the JEE (Main) will be held from September 1 to 6 and NEET (UG) on September 13.
