Amitabh Bachchan funds Covid Center in Mumbai, begins operations

A 25-bed covid center with oxygen facilities has been set up at Ritumbara College in Juhu. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has lent a helping hand to the Covid Center.

After a trial run, the centre was up and running by 10 am on Tuesday, May 18. Bachchan donated the equipment and infrastructure for the facility and all necessary permissions have been granted by the BMC.

With the efforts of Andheri West BJP MLA Amit Satam and in collaboration with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, a well-equipped covid Center has been set up at Juhu-based Ritambhara Vishva Vidyapeeth facility with necessary equipments and infrastructure.

The covid center was inaugurated by Dr Jayant Barve. K West Ward Assistant Commissioner Vishwas Mote, BJP corporator of Andheri Municipal Corporation, municipal officials and activists were present on the occasion.

MLA Amit Satam informed that the Covid Center is equipped with Meditation Center, healthy vegetarian meals, wheelchair facilities, physiotherapy, mental health counseling, path lab, CT scan etc.

Although covid cases in the Andheri area is under control that was once a hot spot, MLA Amit Satam and BJP corporators decided to set up a well-equipped Covid center for the citizens of Andheri-Juhu area and superstar Amitabh Bachchan lent a helping hand to the Covid center.

In his blog post, dated May 16, Bachchan had said the 25 bed centre should be up and running by Tuesday taking into account the aftereffects of the Cyclone Tauktae.
